Pagpanaw Dr. Pio Valenzuela (1956)

Ang dumalaw sa burol ni Dr. Pio Valenzuela (April 1956) ay sina Eduardo Del Mar at Edna  Luna  na gumanap sa "Buhay at Pag-ibig ni Dr. Jose Rizal", pelikula ng Premiere Productions noong 1956.

"Lolo Pio died at home, in his bed, after being bed-ridden for a week. He died on a Friday morning, when all his children were with him. When he was bed-ridden and it looked like he would die in a few days, we were wondering how to get every one of his children home. We were especially worried about T. Arturo who had had a number of strokes before and who was visiting T. Mecy in Legaspi at the time. I don’t remember how the communication was done, but they all got there in time. Estela spent some nights in Lolo’s room watching over him on his last days. I did too. We were present when Lolo passed away.

It was the first Friday of that month. Soon after he died, we heard the church bells ringing to announce that someone had died.

There were some other incidents. When asked if he would go to confession, he agreed, but he did not want us to call Pare Dencio, the one in Polo. He asked for the priest in Obando, P. Marcos,I think was the name. So that was the one who heard his confession.
